The IAPP is the first and only organization to offer comprehensive credentialing programs in information privacy.

The Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)  is the recognized foundation course in U.S. and EU privacy and data protection laws and standards. It also covers the general practice areas of information security, online privacy and data flow management. This program is intended for entry-level to intermediate-level privacy and infosecurity professionals. Senior privacy and infosecurity officers also are welcome.


The Certified Information Privacy Professional/Government (CIPP/G),   an advanced course, covers privacy laws, regulations and policies that are specific to U.S. federal agencies and state governments. It is designed for U.S. government privacy officers, records managers, and infosecurity professionals as well as vendors and consultants who serve U.S. government clients. Candidates must pass both the CIPP and the CIPP/G exams in order to be awarded the CIPP/G credential.


The Certified Information Privacy Professional/Canada (CIPP/C) The Certified Information Privacy Professional/Canada (CIPP/C) is the first national certification to be offered in privacy and data protection. The CIPP/C assesses understanding of Canadian private sector and public sector privacy laws, codes for compliance, roles and enforcement powers of privacy commissioners, and industry-standard practices for information security, online privacy and data flow management.
